SHANTI शान्ति  

— universal peace, tranquility, inner calm or stillness. The word “shanti” is repeated three times to close or seal the recitation of a Sanskrit mantra. When a mantra is chanted with intention (sankalpa) and correct pronunciation, the sound vibrations enable the manifestation of positive effects. By repeating “shanti” three times, we invoke a threefold peace of mind, speech and body, “om shanti, shanti, shantih.” The symbol of the lotus represents purity and spiritual awakening, which brings the ultimate level of peace.
